Today 100% of 363 Branch Offices of Eastern Zone have front-end computers that handle operations from Premium collection to processing Maturity Claims. LlC is going to introduce Metro Area Network (MAN) and Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) for Calcutta and Howrah after its operation in New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. IVRS is already functioning in Guwahati, Patna and Cuttack-Bhubaneswar.

Coming Closer
As part of our continuous efforts to meet the changing needs of the millennial customer, LlC now presents the city of Calcutta and Howrah with a fully functional Metro Area Network. This Metro Area Network will connect 60 of our Branch Offices in Calcutta and Howrah and offer never before convenience. The network will have immediate access to information on over 40 lacs Policies serviced in the city of Calcutta and Howrah.Now, you have the convenience of walking into any of these 60 Branch Offices in Calcutta and Howrah and we are equipped to receive your Premium, thus saving your valuable time. Any of these Branch Offices will also be able to handle enquiries that you may have on your Policy. You will be able to get Policy Status Report, Revival or Loan Quotations and other details. This Network is spread over entire jurisdiction of Calcutta Telephones. To be more specific the Network will include the entire greater Calcutta and Howrah from Barasat in the East to Singur in the West, Kalyani/Chinsurah in the North to Baruipur/Amtala and Uluberia in the South.

Our Policy Information system
We are also offering our services to our customers by Interactive Voice Response system (IVRS). To begin with, the service will be available only to the policyholders of our sixty Branch Offices covered under Metro Area Network of Calcutta and Howrah. Under this system, our policyholders can dial any one of the telephone numbers given below and receive information regarding their policies over telephone.These details can be sent on fax also. The following steps should be followed: —

  • Dial 2364956, 2364971, 2366482, 2366467, 2364944, 2366451, 2364952, 2364941.
  • After initial greeting for replies in Bengali dial (0) for Hindi dial (1) and for English dial (2)
  • Dial your policy number. The system will play back the number for your confirmation. Dial (1) if policy number is correct, Dial (2) otherwise
  • You will then hear a menu indicating the choices available:
    • Dial (1)to get the policy status and premium position. This option tells you whether your policy is in force or not. It also tells you the next premium due date.
    • Dial (2) to get loan information. The system will tell you how much loan is available under your policy, if your policy is eligible for a loan.
    • Dial (3) to get the maturity date.
    • Dial (4) to get Survival Benefit details. If your policy is eligible for a survival benefit, this option tells you when the next survival benefit falls due.
    • Dial (5) to get details of the accumulated bonus on your with profit policy,
    • Dial (7) for Fax-On-Demand. You can get all the above details on your fax.
    • Dial (8) if you want details regarding another policy.
    • Dial (9) to exit.
