old history and can be traced back to Egyptian period. Bowling Pins and
Balls were found in the tomb of an Egyptian King who died in 5200 BC. Bowling
was part of religious ceremony in Germany in the fourth century.
Bowling has been popular
in America since colonial days. The British imported "Lawn Bowling" and
the German settlers introduced "Bowling Pins" which clubbed together to
evolve into today's form of Bowling Sport. This game is normally played
with ten pins but can be played with either seven or nine pins also. The
American Bowling Congress was formed in 1895 and the first Amateur World

How To Play The
Game
The game of Bowling
is a combination of skill accuracy and agility rather than strength. This
is a comparatively an easy to learn sport, which can be played by persons
of all age group.
A Bowling game consists
of ten "Frames". The term Frame means all the pins are positioned in the
shape of an arrow head with one pin in the apex facing the player followed
by a second row consisting of two pins followed by a third row consisting
of three pins followed by a fourth row consisting of four pins. A player
shall get two chances to roll a ball across the bowling lane to knock down
the Bowling Pins at a distance of 63 feet away. The player will be awarded
one point for every Pin knocked down by his throw. The score is automatically
recorded and displayed on the monitor over head after each throw. In case
the player knocks down all the pins in the first shot of the respective
Frame, he will be awarded bonus points.
This game can be either
played alone or in groups not exceeding eight members. The player who scores
the maximum points at the end of the tenth Frame i.e. the last Frame is
the winner of the game. To sum up it may be a different ball game but equally
exciting.
