Haldia Development Authority (HDA),

rest of the country by rail via Panskura, situated on the Howrah-Kharagpur
section of the South Eastern Railway. Ferry and hovercraft service are
also available.
Surplus Power
A 132 KV substation ensures uninterrupted
supply from the Kolaghat Thermal Power Plant. The West Bengal State Electricity
Board is setting up a 220 KV substation for future demands.

Tax Benefits
Haldia, which falls in Midnapore
district, is placed in `b' category under section 80-1A of IT Act.As a
result, there will be full exemption from Income Tax for 3 years and 30%
exemption for 5 years. Projects at Haldia will also be eligible for certain
Sales Tax concessions.
