EXPORT PROMOTION INDUSTRIAL PARK
Asansol Durgapur Development Authority
(ADDA) has taken up the construction of the Export Promotion Industrial
Park (EPIP) at Durgapur, at a total estimated cost of Rs. 2200 lakhs, to
be constructed in two phases costing Rs. 1400 lakhs and Rs.800 lakhs respectively.
The EPIP is spread over 165 acres, well connected in the north of the National
Highway no.2 and the main Eastern Railway line in the south. Out of the
total land available for industries, the tentative pattern of land utilisation
will be 66 acres for large scale, 14 acres for medium scale and 18 acres
for small scale industries. The target industries envisaged would be steel
based, software and electronics,leather, garments, pharmaceuticals, agrobased
and other non-polluting industries. EPIP is the project of the Ministry
of Commerce, Government of India and Government of West Bengal. It
aims to create industrial and social infrastructure of high standards
conducive for creation of favourable environment aimed at attracting entrepreneurs
particularly in the export sector. The project would, on completion, provide
state of the art infrastructure facilities including two substation,conferencing
facilities, business centre, secretarial service, courier and communication
office, weigh bridge, truck parking and loading- unloading bay. Entrepreneurs
interested in setting up export oriented production unit with minimum 33
percent export commitment are reported to have been declared eligible for
the plots. A good amount of incentives are available from the Government
of India, Government of West Bengal and power bodies like, DPL, WBSEB,
WBPDCL, DVC,etc. |
