MMTC Limited, is a major global
player in the Minerals trade and the single largest exporter of iron ore,
Manganese ore, chrome ore and other minor minerals from India. Besides
being the world's second largest importer of fertilizers and the biggest
in India, MMTC has become a major fertilizer marketing company in India
offering both finished and un-finished fertilizers like DAP, Urea, MOP,
Rock phosphate and Sulphur.
As the single largest importer and
seller of all high quality non-ferrous metals like aluminium, copper, nickel,
tin, antimony etc., MMTC offers LME indexed NFMs, both off-the-shelf as
well as on high seas in lot sizes ranging from 1 MT to 1000 MT as for customers
needs and requirements.
Amongst the largest Indian exporter
and importer of agro products like rice, wheat, wheat flour, soya meal,
pulses, sugar processed food etc. MMTC also undertakes extensive operations
in oil seed extractions.
Being the single largest bullion
trader in the Indian sub continent, MMTC imports over 40 tons of gold and
400 silver annually and also accounts for about a quarter of India's total
exports of gold and studded jewellery. MMTC operates its own Duty-free
shop at Sahar International Airport, Mumbai and has recently opened its
own domestic show room in Mumbai to sell machine cast gold and studded
jewellery in 14 and 18 ct., handmade hall-marked plain gold jewellery in
21 and 22 ct., gold, TT bars and its own minted gold medallions.
Some of the new areas of business
interest are Hydro-carbons, coal, coke, drugs and pharmaceuticals, agro
chemicals, engineering goods, marine and mica products, textiles and building
materials.
