Pioneering and successful project
of Nicco Group
Nicco Park is a pioneering
and successful project of Nicco group in amusement park industry in eastern
part of the country. It has now become a land mark in the City of Joy-Calcutta
and over 12 million people visited Nicco Park since its inception with
almost 1.4 million people visiting the park annually. It is an excellent
theme amusement park spread over 40 acre land having over twenty amusement
rides and games in a wonderful ambience of greeneries, hillocks, grassland
and waterbody. It has also a large Food Park and various kiosks throughout
the park serving food of various tastes and cuisines run by all the renowned
restaurants of Calcutta.
This professionally managed company
has achieved yet another distinction of becoming the first amusement park
in the world to obtain ISO 9002 certification from a renowned European
Certifying Authority.
To add to the novelty of the park,
Nicco Park has been adding one new ride almost every year since last 3
years. These rides are innovative and new type of rides which have been
installed for the first time in India and that too in this part of the
country. These are River Cave ride, Monorail Cruiser ride, Water Coaster
ride etc.
The latest ride Water Coaster which
has been added to the fleet of rides in Nicco Park this year has become
extremely popular and 'talk of the town'. The ride has three slides-2 speed
slides and one curved slide from a height of 13 mtrs. with landing on synthetic
grass. The speed slides take only 7 seconds for a travel of 75 mtrs. down
the slides whereas the curved slide takes about 14 seconds in zig zag travel
of 110 mtrs to touch the ground level - through water slides on imported
rafts. The ride is a dry landing type and is the right choice for an amusement
park rather than wet landing in a water pool where visitors are to wear
swim suit.
Nicco Park has started its new project
to install a Bowling Centre -yet again for the first time in Calcutta.
It will be international standard 6 lane bowling alley. This will be an
indoor sport with Billiard game (Pool tables) and other skill games. The
total project cost is estimated to be over Rs. 3 crores.
Bowling alleys today, are a sophisticated
and state-of-the-art industry having automatic and computerised scorers,
mechanised ball return and pinsetters and synthetic lanes. The entire set
up is housed in an air-conditioned complex, which through the aid of multimedia
and computers imparts a colourful, hi-tech ambience. This international
sport is a competitive (medal) sport in the Asian Games and Commonwealth
Games, besides a demonstration game in the Olympics. It is likely to become
medal sports in Olympic in the near future. |
